Will a 35 mount well onto a 15x7? I've seen and heard it done on prerunners and was wondering if its ok for street driving? it seems that a being a taller tire that it would work ok. probably wouldn't on a 33 cause the sidewall is shorter but I got a line on a decent set of BFG at's for cheap and have a empty set of 15x7 rims that i would like to use. thanks guys

are they 35*10.5 or 35*15.5? theres a big difference. rule of thumb is tires not more than 4" wider than the rim. i have my 32*11.5s on 15*7s however. the issue with wide tires on narrow rims is the way that the tires will wear over the course of their life. also the stability. there is alot more flex side to side with that set up. i notice it with my tires and wheels. its not to bad but its not great.

11.5 is the widest I would ever put on a 7" rim...

Better off on a 35 then a smaller tire. Should hold an alright bead when aired down.

While not optimal, you can run a 12.5" tire on a 7" rim, if the tire is 33" or larger in diameter. Run it at a slightly lower pressure, or you'll wear out the center prematurely.

I have 35s on a 15x7. Zero problems, like said earlier you need to figure a decent (lower) air pressure to keep tread wear even so you'll lose to fuel milage there. And yes the wide tire on the narrow rim helps keep the bead on, that's why I kept the narrow rim

Yeah that's an advantage to running a narrow rim as far as the bead goes. Never blew a bead when I was running 33x12.5s on a 7" rim.

When I went up to a 10" rim, I started blowing beads much more, and had to keep my tires aired up more.
