Have been wanting to build a 302 ranger for along time and finally decided to. Original plan was a 302/aod, but decided 351/t5 would be better. 351 lightning motor with performer RPM intake and cam, makes about 325hp so should scoot along really good. A lot of fitment and so far has worked out well. Tried using as many factory parts as possible or easily available parts. Started out as a 2.3/auto. Started on 10/9/17 and now at the point to start wiring the truck , hope to have it running by xmas.

Nice work. An 87 would be an excellent choice where I live in southern Ontario. That's the cut off year for emissions testing here. I'm going with EFI on my project for that reason.

Was the 87 already a stick or did you convert it?

It was an auto. Used the pedals from a 89 and put them in the housing from the 87. Had to cut done the clutch pedal shaft as it was to wide to fit in the 87 piece. Other than that it was easy to do. Master from the 89, slave from a 280z. Not running yet so will see how everything works out.

Curious to see how you made out. Did you get the truck running?

I hope you reinforced the firewall where the master cylinder is located. Otherwise, it'll flex, crack and eventually fail at that point.

I did get it running, drove it a few blocks. Still need to get a few things done, just hard to find the time with my work schedule.

Is this a known problem with the firewall. It uses factory parts other than the braided line and slave cylinder
