decided i was going to go ahead and start doing my door and dash paint mod.
was thinking since the paint on the plastic door panel pieces was already chipping off, that i needed to do something a little different. I went out and bought primer, a can of truck/van duplicolor ford shadow metallic grey color match paint, and a duplicolor clear coat (all purchased at my local autozone)
so i dissasembled the door pieces (the part with the handle) sanded it down really good. started at a 60 and worked my way up to a 1500 grit. primered it. then repeated the sanding process. after that was done. i layed a few coats of the shadow grey duplicolor. and let sit for an hour or so. after that i layed it on a second time. after that dried. i went ahead and clear top coated it.
i took pictures along the way of the whole process. I left my camera in the truck so i cant upload them and will have to wait until tomorrow. Has anyone else performed this procedure? any pictures of how it turned out?
