Hello, this will be my first post on the forums.
Anyway, a few months ago I was coming home from work and right as I rounded the final turn my rpms shot up and I lost power. No loud noises, just instantly lost it.

My truck is a Ranger XLT 4x4 (manual t case) with the 2.9 and with what I assume is the a4ld.
I've tried all the gears even all the ranges on the t case. It acts like its in neutral. The linkage looks fine. I ended up buying a car to drive in the meantime but would really like my truck back. Any Ideas as to what happened?

Did you check the fluid level? Running out of fluid would be as effective as an off switch. Let us know :)

If you have never changed it the drop the pan. Could be a clogged filter too

Yea just got freezing rain the other day... I really wanna get her fixed so I can stop driving this little Hyundai... Honestly I was thinking it was the torque converter, but if its as simple as a blockage, that'd save me from droppin the trans

Smell the dipstick if it smells burnt the tranny probably needs rebuilt. My C3 did the exact same thing and it lost pressure because of a thrust washer burnt up and the oil from the pump could not get to the valve body. Pull the pan and with a large screwdriver pry on the front drum in both directions, there should be very little end play on the cluster.

Well I finally got her in the garage. There is definitely fluid moving after the radiator. The fluid that's coming out of the line looks kinda dark but on the stick it looks fine.
