Yeah, itís 4wd with auto hubs. Thereís a 4x4 controller? This is my first non-manual 4x4, so I assumed that the only mechanism involved was the little motor thatís attached to the transfer case...

Based on your picture and EricBphoto's suggestion, looks like 4WD module's a likely suspect:

In the first picture, with the jump seat open, what do you see back in there if you fold down the back of the seat (so that youíre looking down into the pocket that the seat disappears into when you close it). I have a device in there that looks a bit like a stereo amp with tons of wires running to it. I thought it might be the computer, but I know that the ECA is actually under the passengerís side kick plate in my truck. Iíll try to take a picture of what Iím referring to tomorrow...
Well, right now, darkness. I'll go out tomorrow morning and have a look, and grab you a picture or two. I'm assuming you want the left side.

On the right side is the jack and tire wrench, stowed in the bottom of the well.

No need, 1990RangerinSK. Saskbill nailed it. And I learned that push-button 4wd is even more annoying that previously thought.

Thanks a lot, guys.

The forums and tech section are a wonderful combination (and the TRS page that puts them together and keeps 'em going).

Thanks to all those that participate, and those that take the time to document stuff, and to those that know and share the names/purpose of stuff to point the way!

Kinda like being in one big garage together...
