wimpy O2 sensor

Five years ago I had to replace left bank oxygen sensor causing rough idle and throttle hesitation.
Several days ago symptoms return. Read data stream and same sensor has erratic output now.
OEM one lasted 15 yrs. Aftermarket one barely 5yrs. That's disgusting....

Bosch was OEM

O2s should be replaced every 12 years or 100k miles, only sensors that have a time/mile clock
They use a chemical reaction to detect oxygen in the exhaust, so will start to run out of that chemical coating........after 12 year or 100k miles

After that MPG starts to slowly go down, no codes, just a slow steady lowering of MPG
So by the time they "set a code" you could have bought 10 of them with the money you wasted on gasoline

For OxSensors, go factory supplier Bosch (less $s) or MotorCraft (more $s).
Avoid cheap aftermarket OxSensors, commonly die young in a few months.
A Bosch 15719 with 24i00 0m610 Long Cable+Plug is good to replace any Ford 4WireNarrowBand Sensor.
Use CableTies to route cable away from hot\moving parts & secure any excess length.

Replacement O2 sensor IS a Bosch!
Expected quality brand to last long time.

All makers have bad product slip thru; quality testing determines how much bad product gets to end users.
In the last 20yrs+, many makers have completely eliminated quality control departments & those costs.
