yes it will make a difference, but make sure when you bridge the channels that you set the gains because the 500w won't kill the sub (i don't think it will at least), but it's above the max reccomended level.. so keep an eye out for that

1) wire correctly, i'd suggest at the minimum an 8g amp wiring kit, but i'd almost suggest a 4g or 2g to prevent you from having to rewire in the future if you get better equpiment
2) build a good box (way cheaper than buying one, and not that hard to do, TAKE YOUR TIME AND DO IT RIGHT)
3) set your gains right

it will make a difference, probably more than you expect if you do everything right.

it will be marked on the amp itself or in the manual which terminals to use but its taking + from one channel and a - from the other, but that amp wont handle a 2 ohm bridged load, you will want a mono amp that does power into 2 ohms or a 4 ohm svc sub

Or he can stick with that amp and get a single 4 ohm sub.

Many ways to skin a cat.

no its not exactly like that, most amps will do more power at 2 ohms than 4 ohms but you just have to match your sub and amp up.

400w rms @ 4 ohms and 400w rms @ 2 ohms is the same amount of power.

if you want that amp get a single 4 ohm voice coil sub, but if the amp doesnt matter keep the single 2 ohm voice coil and get a small mono amp that will do its most power at 2 ohms since its usually cheaper to buy an amp that does power at 2 ohms than 4 ohms.

this would make a good amp for the svc 2 ohm sub since it does 300+ rms @ 2 ohms, and is cheaper than that kenwood.

I would recommend the kicker over the kenwood since its cheaper and is underrated so it will do a lil more power than it says it does, where as kenwood is overrated so you wont as much power out of it as it claims it does.

or you could go with this one, it does 400+ rms, but it costs more of course but the sub is rated 400rms so you would be fine.
