I've owned my 99 4wd Ranger for about six years and it has always leaned toward the driver side. Why? I inspected the body mounts. No problem there. I installed new front and rear shocks. New leaf springs and the hangers appear to be straight though I didn't do any measuring. When I bought it the torsion bars had already been adjusted. How likely would it be that they were adjusted uneven? Just by looking at them I can't tell if one control arm is lower than the other. They look pretty even. I know that the fuel tank is off center but it makes no difference when it's empty or full. Anyway, I can't think of any more possibilities and it kinda irritates me when I start looking at it. The whole truck leans evenly so it's not isolated to the front or rear. Anybody got any suggestions?

easy fix

whichever side is leaning needs to have that sides torsion bars cranked til its level. the t bars might be at different adjuustment levels depending on the specific truck. mine has the drivers side cranked 2 turns more than the left to even everything out.

mine leans when empty or full cuz the tank has worn out the springs over time i just used stiffer springs so twits the driver side torsion bar and it should be good

Thanks fellas. I plan on turning them up some more when I get my new tires. At that point I will try to level it out the best I can. That seems to be the only way to cure it.

It leans because it's a lean, mean, leaning machine!

My '98 leans too. I guess i should adjust the T-bars, but when I don't look directly at the back I never notice it. It's real gentle but I know what you mean about it being irritating.

could be the driver?:icon_rofl: but realy the driver side does get more lbs then the other side cause when if your like me i drive alone most of the time, and the gas tank is on that side, so that side sags quicker then the other, but give that t-bar some turns and should be good.:icon_thumby:

With the gas tank full and a driver in the seat, there is about 450 more pounds on that side....maybe that's why??

What you need is a husky girl in the passenger seat to level it out.

my 94 has got new springs, new leafs, new body mounts and bushings, ive never filled the tank more than a couple gallons at a time and it still leans........im thinking its just a ranger thing? at least its not a jeep thing, it took 3 months for my pee to stop burning after i got that jeep thing.....
