My ranger is not getting driven regularly right now so every week i notice mold grows inside my cab =( my vent knob is left in the off position and all of my windows and doors are closed compleltey i don't know what else could be causing mold to grow.

I heard its best to leave my vents open when storing my ranger long term ?

My credo
Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
The biggest thing in keeping fuzz from growing in a vehicle that sits.. is to make sure its parked in a location that'll allow as much sunlight as possible into the cab, for as long as possible during the day. If the interior is getting moist... the passive solar effect will usually get the cab warm enough to dry itself out.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

Is it possible rain is leaking into the cab?

You could open it up on a dry sunny day, and close it up tight before the sun stops shining on it. Moisture gets stuck in strange ways.
I've been using my tool trays a lot and stacking them behind the seat, the trays on top will be dry, but the ones underneath will have cold wet tools when I first drag them out

I use a mercury sables old car cover to cover the front and cab and goes a little into my bed - should i have that cover on top of my ranger on sunny days so sunlight can get through all of my windows ? My ranger is parked on the north side of my home.

Sunlight and heat are your friend. A cover will help with neither.

If it was getting water getting in there could be water stains on the head liner, carpet will be wet etc.

Sometimes water gets behind the caulk/glue that holds the windshield in place. Sometimes the vents don't close all the way. You can google these problems and watch a YouTube or just try DampRid.

Yeah, I'd definitely be getting rid of the car cover. Car covers should really only be used if it's in a garage or something IMO.. or places where it's nice and sunny most of the time.

Rodents can and will figure out that under the cover is a nice safe place to produce an immeasurable amount of offspring.. and if it isn't a super quality 110% waterproof cover.. it's just gonna trap moisture between the cover and the vehicle.

I agree, I had covered one of my motorcycles outdoors for a while, when I removed the cover, mold and mildew had already started underneath it. And that was in the hot humid area of Houston.
