The general consumer can get parts a lot cheaper than a shop because they shop around and will go to little backwoods yards...we get 90% of our used and aftermarket parts from LKQ, which is pretty outrageous, but they deliever daily, and they're pretty good at having whatever we need. Then from there we mark it up 25%. And lets not forget labor charges, which is $40-$45 an hour depending on the insurance company or if its customer pay (customer pay is usually the highest). Those labor rates also vary from city to city of course. Then theres materials, hazmat charges, etc. That 4k was justified considering the core support damage.4 grand? really? wow.
boy am i glad i know a body shop.
hood and fender used, rad support, headlight and grill you can find for $350 here, bumper would be like 100, paint it all any your maybe $600.
im just doing the math, i have no collision so if that happens to me, im thinking what it will cost.
good to see its fixed man.
