my wheel bearing on my 97 keeps makeing an awful sound so i tightened it up but it only got worse. i dont know 100% its the wheel bearing but thats all i could figure. it is now starting to lock up when i drive so i thought it may be the auto hub but i tried unlocking that and it still makes the sound any help?

The inner bearing is probably toasted and the rotor is grinding on the caliper mounts. Take it apart and look, chances are both bearings are on their way out.

Yea, don't just keep tightening it, thats about the worst thing you can do.

You need to tear it down and inspect everything

wheel bearings

I love TTB rangers you can have the rotors off and wheel bearings replaced in 2hrs or less, that is if the bearing race wants to come out, if it doesn't then you are going to have to get a bigger hammer :thefinger: (haha JK) or make at tool :icon_welder: or get creative :D
I check mine or repack them at the end of each season due to the amount of driving and water I drive through.
