found after cleaning that my headliner and carpet are still dirty. any ideas on how to get it out for little cost
How did you clean it the first time? I've always taken my carpet cleaner for the house to it and it has always worked very well for me. Speaking of; mine needs it pretty bad at the moment.
That's the first thing I thought of, too......definitely take out anything unwanted, along with the stuff you want to keep!
Actually, I worked at a Buick-Pontiac dealer in TN years go right out of school, and we would pull the carpets from the trade-ins and do exactly that with them. Always worked REALLY well, never damaged a rug. And we had some really nasty-ass carpets in cars that came in on trade that left looking brand new. I've done it with my own cars too.
x2 I've done this in a few vehicles and they clean up like brand new, never damaged anything, just make sure it's completely dry before you put it back in. I also have taken the factory seat covers off and put them through the washing machine, the results are great.
That's funny - I did the seat covers from my '82 Escort that way. Worked out great: wash in cold, dry on low.
Oh I've seen that done plenty. As for the seats, headliner, dash, etc, not recommended.

Do you have any big car washes around, like a Wash World? Some of them have shampooers you can rent, same idea as a vacuum at a gas station, but a carpet shampooer instead.
