I"m getting ready to scrap a '94. Rear end is bad and it hit a pole in the front end. Motor unknown. It does have the 5 speed so I know that is a keeper and the bed is rust free, but has a mighty dent behind the passenger door. Besides any good lights, what are some things to pull off of this before it (probably) goes off to China? My knowledge is more on older BIIs...

thanks.

I would pull the whole interior if it's good, any glass that isn't scratched/cracked.

I kept the ignition coil, alternator, transfer case, transfer case shifting mechanism, and some interior pieces from my scrapped Explorer. I was going after easy stuff that I knew was in good working order.

Melt it down, send just the slag to China. That's the only part of the steel they use when they manufacture garbage to send back here anyway. They use the rest of it to build military equipment they sell to North Korea.

Keep all of it you can. Start with larger items you have a space for. Then fill in with smaller items

If your rear leaf spring hangers (bracket on frame that holds the spring or shackle) are still good, save them. I know two guys with '93 Rangers who had their spring hangers rust apart and the leaf spring ended up going through the bed. Not a spot of rust on either of those guys' trucks' bodies either. I can imagine there's probably a demand for them. The problem is they were made with cheap steel from China and they rust up and break.
