My credo
A properly suspensioned Ranger can be safely airborne for up to 4 seconds at a time! =:O
This is usually the DRY and sunny and low-humidity time of year, BUT... not for 2023-2024.

Any-hoo, one morning seems like rust just "bloomed" overnight, over most of the roof exterior, and apparently the factory paint aged/dried-out in a way that makes it LOOK like it had been turbo-scrubbed in 2 directions, with a very coarse brush... but it hasn't. See pics...

This is standing on the driver-side door sill, looking out over right-rear corner of roof.

Gonna be a while before I can get it sanded, primed, and painted professionally, just need to stop the "cancer" for now, but in a way that doesn't interfere (too much) with the "real" job later on.

Thanks in advance!

Giving my truck more money than it deserves.
Looks like your primer failed. You're kinda boned with this.

Short term is probably use a magic eraser to gently get the staining off then put a very thick layer of carnauba wax or clear spray paint if you feel wild. The only fix is to sand to bare metal and do a respray.
