Sorry It's been a while. I went to our cabin by smith and moorhouse and did some wheeling. And have been busy since with honeydos. I have a picture on my avatar. The tarp covers the windows I took out for the summer. :icon_rofl: I highly suggest doing this.:icon_thumby:
Next week at Hires then some wheeling???????

Wow, I'm not far from you then. I wasn't home, but my wife said she could see it from our back yard. I just drove past there and to be honest, I didn't even know that house was back there. And I spent about a month working on 9200 West back in 93 when I worked for Magna Water.

yeah my property borders the property of the house that burned (i am directly west of it), i came home all the way saying "wow that looks pretty close to my house........." and as i fought the traffic of fire-lookers and got home i found like 20 people who had straight walked into my backyard were hanging all over my back-fence

That would piss me off to find people in my back yard. I'm glad it didn't hop the fence and get your place too. I heard there were a lot of transients that went in there? I didn't Magna was a transient hot spot, LOL. Have you ever been to the wrecking yard over there by you? I can't tell if there's anything decent in there since they put up the aluminum stuff on the fence.

One more question. Did you get your rig street legal? I have some "not so legal" stuff on my Mustang and they were looking at it pretty hard went I took it in. It kinda scared me into not exploring the possibilities of putting a 351 in my Stang.

Oh, and the street I was talking about is actually 9100 West that I worked on. Not 9200 West. I should know that street number better. My grandpa had a store on that street the first 25 years of my life.

that "wrecking yard" is directly across the street from me. they are hillbillies and hicks. and they put out dishes of food and water to attract stray cats. and not just on their own property either. it tooks months to get them to stop putting paper bowls of cat-food on my property, there is a vacant house to the south of me that she still goes across the street and puts bowls on every day. but since it is not my property the cops can't enforce my complaint.
i have never seen any kind of customer go in there. their zoning isn't correct either. they just bought the property and all of its contents years ago and grand-fathered it in. its mostly trashed rv's and trailers.

That would piss me off to find people in my back yard.
did i mention that the people that were in my backyard were the whole family of hill-billies that live across the street in that wrecking-yard?

well i have allways worked in shops so i just used the shop i was working at the time to just fudge the visual inspection, and punch into the computer that it had a v6, and cats, and egr...etc. and that the tires didn't stick out 12" :icon_thumby:

and then i found an insurance company to insure the truck with a "stated value" policy (As opposed to fair-market value) so now it is fully covered for $25,000 instead of fair market value of a 1988 bII which would be like $2,000

but what kind of "not so legal" stuff are we talking about?

Sounds like some riff raff to me. What in the world would they need the cats for? A mouse infestation? I remember reading that everyone on your street was mad about that being there, and the trucks going up to Kenecott. I'm glad they moved the entrance.

what kind of "not so legal" stuff are we talking about?
Nothing major, blocked off EGR, no EGR pipe that goes on the back of the heads (GT40P heads don't have the holes for them), blocked off smog pump, and no valve for smog/EGR. Those items are all supposed to be there for the visual inspection. The guy was looking very hard at all of that stuff.

I usually am testing my car out 364 days a year, so I use a "test pipe" as it's called on those days. But I did have cats on it when I took it in. It passed better than usual for CO, but the NOx was higher because of the lack of EGR. I've been fiddling with my Ranger the past little while, so I need to get back under my Mustang and get the test equipment back on it, I'm not done performing the tests I need to.

Do what I did. I have afriend that live in brighamcity. They do not do emissions outsid of the wasatch front. If you have property or a friend that can recieve mail you can bypass the system.

I have family in Richfield. I should do that. Can I still get the safety done in Salt Lake, or do I have to drive it down there every year?

It still passed the sniffer test with cats. I was sure he was going to tell me I needed to put all of that stuff back on because he was looking at the system for a good 5 minutes.

where do you usually take it to get tested?
Usually Jiffy Lube on 7200 West. But their machine was down that day so I took it to the place on 35th and 5200 west.
