Does your engine have the capability [not ability] to use premium to it's full potential? Everything I've read says it's a waste of money otherwise.

Unless you changed the timing and upped the compression you are wasting money. Just send me $20 everytime you fill up to get the same results if you are using premium without engine mods.

My 89 runs better on mid grade with no mods at all.

On a side note, maybe he means a premium membership to trs?

Enjoy the overpriced gas payment and waste of money. I run 87 octane and have no issues with my 4.0. I just filled up last night and I paid $3.26 a gallon.

Actually Premium gas is about $.30 to $.40 more expensive than the 87 octane. with a 20 gallon tank, a fill up with premium is at most $8 more.

That being said, for our trucks premium is a waste of money, my 4.0 runs fine on the cheap stuff.

Now on my 2004 Nissan Maxima, it is recommended that you run 91 octane fuel, and while it does run on 87, the gas mileage suffers enough that the $8 difference in price of a fill up is justified.

As for premium memberships good job and I really need to get one of those...

The lowest grade we can get here is 91 and I pay about 4.10 a gallon for it. 95 is about 4.60 a gallon....
