Sure would like to get to his marker, I made a laminated copy of the banner to leave there. Thisfords4u was trying to get information on the location, if he was successful we will do that.
Would be a nice gesture for a fellow member.

I know Sunk knows where it is. He took the banner there last time. All I know is that it's somewhere around Roseburg, Oregon.

Yep, still on track! Heading South tomorrow early am, couple sigs on the way and Roseburg Ore early afternoon.
Gotta get out to the garage tonight and check the truck over, load it up in the morning with donuts, coffee and Mountain Dew and we are off.

I contacted sunk and he said he couldnt remember exactly were it was. Ive made a couple phone calls to what I assume are his relatives ( Bruggeman not very common) and have not gotten a call back as of yet. Still working on it though. If anyone wants to get ahold of me tomarrow as Ill be away from the computer my # is 541 951 1549.

I found Him

I found the cemetary records for Chance. He's in Valley View Cemetary, also known as Southerlin cemetary, now to actually find his marker.

Ok now for the suprise.. Chances MOM Melody called me back this morning. As it turns out I left a message on her sister in laws phone. Luckily she forwarded it to Melody. Anyhow, she was thrilled with the banner idea, had no idea about the last one. Well, Melody, Tuner nd his son, myself and my daughter all met at the Southerlin, Or DQ. Did some pictures and signtures then Melody led us to Chances marker, and more pictures. (Of which tuner has cause dummy me forgot my camera). I never met Chance personaly, but if he was anything like his mother, he was one fine young man. Rest in peace my brother. It was a pleasure meeting Austin (Tuner), his son , and Melody. And guess what, she has a black ranger edge.. Austin said he had about a 5 hour drive home as mine was only about 2, so wtch for the pics.

Summary,
Trip down from Spanaway to Cottage Grove was a couple hundred miles of solid fog, no road pics to speak of.
Met Dan / Deathwheeze and his girlfriend Aubree in Chehalis for sig and pics.
Took pics of meet with thisfords4u and daughter Kiley, Melody and Chances awesome dog Scout, my boy Ryan and myself, and the Banner at Chances marker.
Melody signed the Banner for Chance.
We left a small laminated copy of the current Banner at his marker.
I have to echo Robs sentiment, regret not having met Chance in person, by all accounts he was a fine young man.
Tomorrow I will post up the pics, maybe mess around and figure out how to embiggen them...otherwise will be thumbnails again.
Going to relax a bit and head for the rack tonight.
It was great to be a part of the Banner moving, takes some effort and ability to change plans quicklike but it is worth it. I made some friends today I would never have if not for this.

Great job all of you. And hey Tuner, Chance was a good kid that even made the most stone faced old folks here grin. Also when banner #1 was taken to his spot, Jim called it done and sent home, hence banner #2. Many, many members have passed since I came here in 04-05... most military, they seem to go un-noticed.

Glad you were able to find it, sorry I couldn't be of much help. I never met Chance in person, but we joked around quite a bit on here and I felt like he was a friend. I used to drive I5 from Northern CA to Seattle all the time, and Roseburg was always the halfway stop. He was always in the back of my mind driving through, so it made sense to me to find him.

Lima, I hear you. I think I was struck by how young he was and how well thought of he was. I could only hope to be as remembered.
My brother passed unexpectedly in July 2010 and I will always wonder if it was somehow related to his deployments. We can never know but will honor his memory.
