Since I'm doing the clutch and changing to manual tcase, I'm going to be changing both trans and tcase fluid. I have 93 ranger with M5OD trans and BW1354m tcase. Just so I get this straight, use regular dex/mercon (not mercon V) in both trans and tcase? I've been searching and some say use merc V, some say don't use it :icon_confused:. Since I have an older M5OD I'm guessing I have to use the dex/mercon :dunno:

dex/mercon is fine, no need for the ful synthetic merc V but it would probably be fine just more expensive

It should work fine on both of them. I have seen the same claims of shifting issues after using Merc V, but I filled both of mine out of our bulk tanks at work, which is Merc V, and I have not had any issues from it.

Just use what you can get.

I use fully Synthetic B&M Trick Shift in my 1993 Ranger. I have 205,000 miles on the truck and it still shifts as smooth as when I bought it in 1995.

I started using Trick Shift in my truck in 1998

B&M Trickshift is a scam. It's relabeled Type-F. Quit wasting your money.

Please provide me with proof that your statement is accurate so that I might consider a different fluid.

I have no hard proof, just been around drag racing my whole life. Just a common fact that everyone seems to know. I know for sure TS only makes a difference in GM autos. It has to do with the friction modifier properties.

I do sincerely appreciate the information, I will look into it.
