2 black tow hooks rated at 10,000lbs from Summit: $10
6 grade 8 bolts with washers, lock washers, and nuts: $20
New 1/2" cobalt drill bit: $20

Result: bad ass tow hooks

Just a tip for everyone else: USE THE RIGHT PROCEDURE FOR DRILLING STEEL. That means low speed, cutting oil, and a sharp cobalt drill bit. If you start out like I did on high speed without any oil or lube you'll just burn up your expensive cobalt bits and get nowhere except $20 poorer and arms that feel like jello.

Yes, the bolts cost more than the tow hooks themselves.

Rated at 10,000lbs and bolted to the frame with grade 8 hardware, these suckers are tough. Now I'm ready to help pull someone out of a mudhole :) Or someone can pull ME out of a mudhole..... :shok:

Those look pretty good. They work, I had them on a 89 Bronco I had and pulled two Jeeps out of a pretty deep mud hole with them.

Thanks!

Ha, yes, that drivers door is in sad shape. I've been eyeballing the classifieds and some local yards for the right color door. Passenger side door is flawless though.
