I have just inherited a 2000 Ford Ranger. The tires on there are 245/75/16, so I was wondering what that measures out to in inches.
Also, I am wondering what the max tires I can get under the ranger without lifting it.

Should be about 30.5x10.5r16. I see no issues with running 265x75r16 or 285x75r16 or even 255x85r16 as long as it is a 4x4. At most it would probably need a few turns of the torsion bars.

I've run the 265's and 255's with just very minor rubbing on the plastic inner liner, stock wheels and no lift. With 285's think that is almost at the very limit of how narrow a rim you should use but it's done quite often.
