Hi all
Its a 84 2.3 The only marks I can see that the cam can line up with is two little dots stamped in the head.

The crank mark

but I could not find anything for the oil pump/dizzy drive shaft gear from what is said.. but I think it does not matter as it is carbed and the dizzy is adjustable.

So I think I have it all lined up and when I rotate it twice it all lines back up. So does this sound/look right to you all?

Thanks
Tim

upper half missing

Your upper half of the back belt cover is missing the timing marks are on that, take a piece of string or straight edge and from the CENTER of the cam bolt to the CENTER of the AUX shaft bolt run a STRAIGHT line to set the arrow on your cam sprocket .The harmonic balancer mark MUST be set on TDC.OOR buy a COMPLETE rear cover. HOPE THIS HELPS!:icon_welder:

Yep...you don't really need the back cover if you do what Chilsam suggested...but it helps to keep slop off the timing belt to extend its life somewhat...

Motor looks good though...

One thing I've noticed...the aux shaft mark usually ends up pointing directly at the crank mark (pulley) on mine to be aligned with the number one plug at the dizzy...but this can be adjusted by simply pulling the dizzy and reseating it a few degrees as needed...is there another mark on yours where this points to or is this simply a shot showing the mark???
