the other side of the arm will be braced and plated for strength and i may also end up cutting the bushings off and throwing in somerod ends

let me know what you think, sorry i didnt get much done but had a honey doo list to complete lol
are you going to throw some plating on the top/bottom too, or just on the sides? I have heard about these arms cracking around where the stud goes through on the top as well. I second the idea of throwing some sort of rod end or johnny joints to replace the bushings. ruffstuff specialties, a vendor here, has some good deals on a decent sets of rod ends with all the accessories needed to get them on your arms. the rod end supply 1.25" are supposedly a great heim for the money and have lasted a long while on some pretty gnarly rigs from what I have read.

sounds like a plan rail....

yea i was planning on doing that for the extra strength...yea i saw the 1.25 joints for pretty cheep so ill probably end up grabbing them, should i extend the bars out any? i cant remember my total length that they came but it wouldnt be to much work to extend them a few more inches

just got on ruff stuff and ordered the heims, got the good 1.25 ones also ordered some tabs for the front bumper and some antiwrap leaf spring plates.....

also did a little more work on the RA's tonight..

took the flap wheel to it and cleaned off the powdercoat

also started making templates for my plateing, cant decide if i want to go 3/16 or 1/4...

lol the only cardboard i could find...

i also threw one of the arms on the bandsaw to cut the bushing end off...

was wondering why it took the saw so long to cut it...

turns out its 1 5/8's tubing with a 3/16's wall which leaves me with an 1 1/4 ID (not sure what ill do since my tube adapters are 1.5...)

and here is my next question...how long should i extend the arms? this measure ment is from the center of the bolt hole to the front axle

any suggestions?

could build a new tranny crossmember and make the long arms attach to tranny crossmember. its quite common on sas's and the 3 link setup on like lots of jeep guys run.

i've heard of guys running them around 4 feet long and some even longer, I second running them to either right in front of the trans crossmember or right on with the trans crossmember would be pretty good. be sure to design it so you don't have to tear apart your front suspension so you can take out the trans if you have to work on it for some reason.

yea i believe im gunna take them all the way the the trans crossmember if not an inch or 2 further...but i probably will have to do some work on the suspension to get the trans out because i was thinking about building a big skid plate into my croessmember for the t-case and such

also noticed in this pic....

that you plan on plating over where the stock shock mount is...or do ya plan on making a shock mount on top of the arm, or relocating it to the front of the beam???
