I have allen wrench pliers. It helps you get a better grip on allen wrenches, i guess. Never had to use it, yet.

I sure wouldn't want to disagree with you Mr Walt (my brother's name), but I'd have to think all tools are dumb.
And deaf.
And blind. haha

I'd have to think that most, if not all tools, are conceived in the minds of very intelligent people. And the most of those not while setting at a desk or drawing board, but while under a hood or vehicle, or leaning across the machine they were made to repair, by the person doing that repair.

It seems this thread has taken a very sharp left turn away from its original title, but suppose that fact is in every ones best interest

Even though it might be more comical to hear about the time someone tried a 12 ft cheater pipe and wound up on the ground with a broke nose, don't think many would be lining up to divulge those stories

I’ve used a 6ft cheater on a 1” drive torque wrench. But no funny story about that one. Just got the job done.

That’s aN inexpensive crimper for coaxial cable connectors. I have that same one even though I eventually got a better one.

I was just gonna say that... those are crimpers. First time I've heard someone think they are Allen wrench pliers lol.

I have a bleeder wrench I made from a allen wrench and 5/16 socket, just for the slave cyl on a ranger. found a allen wrench that would fit into the 1/4 drive end of the socket and welded it fast. much easier than trying to use a ratchet or mini breaker-bar in that spot.

Heck, I carry a cheater pipe in my travel tool box, actually a 12" SS pipe from an old ceiling fan extension adapter.
It makes short work of R&R of the belt. It's difficult enough to get a long 3/8" ratchet engaged to the tensioner and pushed far enough through the maze of fan blades and pulleys to get enough of a bite to allow it to acquire full release of the belt

But when I get it set, and pulled up to near full tension and clear of the maze with the tips of my fingers I slip that pipe on there and so very easily pull it on up far as it takes to thread and unthread the belt under no strain at all, and it's every bit as useful in releasing that pressure.

And that's only one of its' many useful purposes

Yeah, I guess I've even unwittingly thrown in another dumb tool story. haha

Lol. What makes it funnier is, i worked in telophony for 5 years, never seen a co-ax crimper like this. I guess I am the dumb tool hahahahahahaha

So this thread got me looking for some homemade tools of mine and I came across this tool that I've had for years (bought it with a tool bag full of other tools) and I had no clue what it is used for. I ended up googling it and found out what it is actually used for.... Anyone want to guess before I spill the beans?
