soo i was thinking about swapping out my supercharged 2003 4.0 engine into a reg cab 2wd truck...probably a 4cyl because they are generally cheaper to buy..?

soo really im wondering..what do i need here...

im really trying to use the same tranny thats behind the motor right now...for a few reasons..its all attached (so i could take the motor and tranny, same time), its a standard..and i think its a bit beafier? since it was in the 4wd xlt?

but anyway..im looking to just throw that into a real light truck, dont know what year yet..pretty much the price and condition will determine the year...would love a splash, but whatever...

what wiring do i need? i would rather not tear my 4.0 apart, as im planning on putting a 4.0 in there and trying to POSSIBLY get rid of that truck..

so would i need just like the wiring that connects to the engine.. (have another set of that...)...and what? a fuse box for the 4.0?? the computer for a 2003 4.0??

thanks for the help :)

If the truck is not a 4x4 you cant use the same trans that came out of a 4x4 with out finding a 2wd tail and a 2wd out put shaft. The out put shafts are different lengths and will not work on a 2wd tail with out a 2wd out put shaft.
I would look for a 2000-2003 with a blown motor, preferably a 4.0. They are out there..
Check your bone yards I bet they are full of usable bodies that either have or have had 4.0's in them.
