Hello All, (first time caller, long time listener)
Several years ago I swapped out my FM 146 (after I cooked it with a 4.0 swap)
to the M50D that's supposed to be there. I'm hearing what I believe to be a countershaft noise again and before I tear the M50D apart, I realize I could go for some other options.
I have obtained a free SROD 4 spd from an 82 F/S bronco. Being it would be a much stronger, cost effective option, I'll gladly put it in there, maybe change a few ratios if possible. Id even love to get rid of the electronic engaging 1354 case and try to stuff in a 1356 if its not too crazy... I'm well equipped to deal with any cross member, driveshaft or floor pan issues. The kicker would be the bellhousing.
I heard somewhere in the posts of this site that an SROD housing can be modified to fit a T5. What about the reverse? Any ideas?
