Changed the alternator on my girlfriends 06 explorer a couple months back. She asked me to find a cheep one so i got a 10$ one from my dads buddies junkyard. Thing works great but ever since I changed it the truck squeaks when it wants to (which is about 60% of the time). Anyway to fix this or would we have to get a new one?

The squeak is most likely the tension pully or the idler pully if it has one..

jw how would that be affected by a new alternator? But from what i remember the tensioner pulley was being a bitch so ill def look into that.

I also plan on changing the belt too, the truck has 85k on it, might as well
