Spedometer cable connection question?

So i have a 84 ranger cab on a 88 bronco 2 frame with the 2.9/fm146 but when i went to connect the spedo cable today there was this black connector in it with a wire and conector in it but to the side of it there was a circle but ALOT smaller then the gear/tcase end of the cable i have so...yeah heres some pics of what im talking about...

Where did your t-case come from? That's a vehicle speed sensor from a later model vehicle. You should be able to toss it and stick your cable right into the case.

came out of a bronco 2...the gauge cluster im using out of the same bronco 2 but the cable is connected to the guage because i can spin it and see the speed go up and can spin back the km's lol...

I believe that electrical connector is for the cruise control. If you don't have cruise, then like said, remove the black thing and stick your cable with gear on it in there instead.
