Hi all. I've got a 2WD gen 2 that needs some work. The rubber parts on my steering need replacing. I've identified four points in particular. The first two are where the tie rod ends meet the spindles, I'm just going to replace both tie rod ends.

The other two points have me a little confused though. The pitman arm is connected to the drag link via some kind of rubber bushing or ball stud. Likewise the steering arm is connected to the drag link with a very similar joint.

Both of these points are in awful shape. They're about the consistancy of jelly at this point and are so degraded I can't really make out what they used to look like. One of them is cracked completly in half.

I'm having trouble finding these parts. For one thing I don't know what to call them. And is this rubber machined into the metal, such that it would have to be pressed out? Or am I right in thinking these are simple parts that can be unscrewed and replaced as a unit. Out of the rubble I can see a nut with a cotter pin which indicates a removable part, but it's really so degraded I can't make it out.

So what are they and where can I find them? I scrolled around on rockauto for a while but can't find anything that fits the bill. I appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks everyone!

All of the joints are a standard ball & socket type and have rubber boots to seal the elements out of the joint.

If you're buying all new parts, you need the drag-link, a tierod, and both a right & left tie-rod-end (the joints that are part of the tierod and drag link itself are not replaceable, you replace the whole component).

Hope that helps
