DG you're so incredibly entertaining that you're not satisfied with your cult following on your own thread, you have to carry this thread too. Look at who made the 3 posts before this one.

and to chvlfrk I think you should take his advice about welding some square stock onto the shackles. that looks extremely flimsy like it would bend beyond repair in a somewhat spirited turn.

I APPRECIATE the concern & advice, but it's been colder than a witches t*t in a brass bra round her for couple weeks, and I just ain't had the itch to work out in the cold lately. My intentions are to put the short shackles back on, as I think the azzend it just a lil' too high for my likin.

Here's a pic without the box or HUGE tires, do you concurr?

you could use air adjustable shocks and set the height where you want it with a shot of air from a lil 12 volt pump tied into the air shock lines with a bleed valve mounted under the dash next to the air pump switch....works for me, but I'm heavily sedated most of the time...the shackles look good with the extra sawed off (the bottom of my frame rails is 23"off the concrete/the bottom of the tailpipe is 13" from the concrete to give you an idea...I've got 4" of trave between the rubber frame bumper and the top of the axle (I did saw 2" off the rubber bumpers for a little more travel...with the adjustable air shocks I can add anther 3" to the height with no problem)

the rails were at 27", but settled down to 23" after the bed was put in place....

Change in plans>>>

My Son has taken over the black 94 in the pics, it will be gettin a 16.5 to 1 compression, 58cc chambered aluminum headed, 355......est. 500HP.

The RAT Ranger has been switched to a 99 I picked up reasonable>>>

Day I brought it home:

As it sits today less the box:

Picked up a disc braked 8.8 out of a 00 Explorer, and my plans are to put two right side axles in it to narrow it 3" :

It will be gettin the black steppy, as my Son wants a std. box. Will keep ya informed of it's progress.

I've been workin on gettin my green 94 ready for this summers Cruise-In's and Meets, as I pulled the motor and worked it over a tad.:icon_surprised:

Update 3 28 10

Before the rear suspension mod:

Anybody interested in a red steppy cheap? Not cherry but only $200.....

After rear suspension mod (no I haven't put the Explorer 8.8 in it yet, hence the shocks not hooked up and how high the azz is sittin, along with I haven't removed the rear shackle mounts yet):

BTW: Those SWEET mounts where made by a member known as IRON RANGER! :icon_welder::icon_thumby:

Got more coals in the fire than I can keep up with...........

I went through my motor on my green 94 this past winter, I have done a similar setup with the exception of narrowin the rearend by usin 2 right side axles:

Weld Draglite 15X12 with 7.5" backspacin & 28X15.50 tires on rear and 15X5 fronts with 225/75 skinnies.......

Will get some pics after I get the bed back on in a week or so...........

Next I'm gonna modify my steerin box with knuckles to clear my long tube headers.
