well, what is the difference in all the differnt types of rangers? there is the xl, xlt, fx4, fx4 off road, off road, 4x4, and fx4 level 2.

i know the 4x4. but from what i understand the fx4 has a lift kit and wider tires. and i right?

and i believe the off road has heavier shocks or better suspension. correct me if im wrong.

whats with the levels 2 and whats in the xl or xlt?
i never knew and it always puzzled me couldnt find an answer anywhere (stupid me shoulda asked here first)

any help?

the high rider package available on the gen 1's was the only ranger available with a "lift" right from ford.

that summed up version is very good. this came acroos me when i have a 94 ranger xlt 4x4, and i saw a fx4 level 2. I thought that the fx4 had an body lift and wider tires, but the height and tires looked the same as mine.

and i say f "by" 4. like 4x4, but my bud argues about and says f "x" 4

I'm fairly sure it's "FX4", not "F by 4".

I think it's pronounced F by 4, it seems like a play on 4X4, with the F standing for Ford. Maybe I'm reading too much into it

No I think it's still pronounced F by 4, but the F has a meaning

EDIT: Should we email Ford to find out? lol

What about the Trailhead? My buddy had a 2000 Regular cab 2wd with 4x4 suspension and it had a sticker that said "Trailhead" on the tailgate. Was this before it was called Edge?
