I have a Ranger (2.3l, 5-speed) with a trans going and i have a 87 Turbocoupe with a hurt engine, good turbo and a t-5. I want to try and install the turbo on the ranger just using the stock boost and the ranger maf. most of my questions have been answered by the tech section, ang just want advice on going forward. I would imagine i would need this....

http://www.turbotbird.com/techinfo/GillisValve/GillisValve.htm

Only because to control boost without the stock Turbocoupe boost controller. I know i wont have forged pistons. i will keep the boost low. The turbocoupe body is shot and i want to keep the engine and have it rebuilt for a better project.

What else am i missing with the stock engine management? I do plan on using the intercooler with a cheap scoop. The trans swap is pretty straight forward according to the tech articles. Thanks in advance!

With a stock wastegate, you can't keep the boost any lower than 9 psi. Your MAF will max out at probably 2 psi.

How about a mark 8 maf? I'm running 400 horse through mine.
