i have a 98 3.0 and it revs up randomly to around 3k rpm all the time. the pcm is most like the problem from what i have heard and there is a check engine light for high idle on. anyone know where to find a new computer for a good deal for my truck? thanks!

Whoever told you the PCM was the most likely problem suffers from rectal-terrestrial confusion.

You will spend measurably less than the cost of replacing a good PCM on competent diagnosis.

You don't play probabilities. Intermittents are usually caused by wiring. And your problem may very well be elsewhere, such as a sticky idle air bypass.
