I'd be happy with a NA 4.6, but a 5.4 supercharged? WOW. That would be fun! I've driven the newer lightnings, and they're surprisingly fast for a full size truck. That much power in a ranger would be down right dangerous if you're not ready for it.

I remember reading about this in highschool. Actually had my hopes set on one really bad. Unfortunantly these beast's were never put into production. There were a few variations that I had heard of like the 5.0 and the 4.6.

Surprisingly, the Lightningbolt only ran a best time of 13.88 it's first time to the track. They figured they could get it into the 12s with some tuning. I read one story where they blew a Vette away on the highway. Wonder how busted the vette guy's ego was?

I would imagine it's got a wheel spin problem. Probably smokes the tires halfway down the track. Should 4-link the rear, make it plant better.

I second the notion of building one. I'd probably opt for a supercharged 4.6, it'd still scream and it'd probably be a little more streetable than a superchaged 5.4. What's the point in building a hands down bad ass truck like that when you don't have the ablility to drive it everyday?
