What would cause my fan not to come on?

You probably need a new clutch for your fan. But what do you mean by won't come on? Like you waiting for it to change sound when the fan engages?Neither fan is coming on. Once the truck temperature gauges gets to halfway and starts to rise the fan doesn't come on and if I cut the blower motor on it doesn't come on either.
The fan doesn't engage at all.You probably need a new clutch for your fan. But what do you mean by won't come on? Like you waiting for it to change sound when the fan engages?
Both fans are not operating. The truck will overheat when I'm in stop and go traffic. When I get on the highway no it cools down quickly.Need to clarify : do you mean the radiator fan for cooling the engine (mechanically driven by the engine) or the blower motor that moves air into the passenger compartment (electric)?
Sounds like you have two separate issues. Both fans are not operating. The truck will overheat when I'm in stop and go traffic. When I get on the highway no it cools down quickly.
Just checked the resistor and its on good condition surprisingly.inspect the blower speed control resistor, its under the blower motor. they corrode and fail. also the connectors tend to burn up.
