Backstory: working on an '83 2.8 restoration with a rebuilt C5 auto (I did the rebuild five years ago...no problems then, but the truck sat for 4.5 years before I started the restoration).
Problem: the trans is puking out about 5 tbs of fluid on startup, but only if the truck sits for a couple days without starting. admittedly I overfilled and thought that was the cause (which at first it probably was, thru the vent), but I pumped out down to the cold marks and it is still puking.
The trans pukes, but engages fine and does not drip or leak afterward.
Puke is far enough forward to not be coming from the cooling lines or mod valve, but not far enough forward to be coming out of the input shaft and down the bell housing.
Could it still be the vent? Can't think of what else it could be...
