Black housings ftw!

Make sure you dont crank down on the bolts. They have a tendency to break the tabs off.

Ok so I couldn't wait till day break. I read up on it and I'm glad I did cause I didn't know about the bottom 4th bolt. Any how from what I read everybody who had to remove the housings whined about it like a 3 yr old, And said it was very difficult. But I would say no more difficult than changing the oil and filter on a ranger if not easier.

Any how...

So here is the before pic, you can see how scattered the passenger light is due the melted housing.

I removed the radiator cover

I then removed the grill

Removing the two 10 mm bolts on top of the housings

There is a 10mm plastic screw in the bottom corner that comes out

The fourth screw is underneith I had to jack up the car to get to it. (It's directly above the side turn signal and goes in parallel).

Now I was able remove and dissconnect the wire harnesses.

I put the new housings in place and pluged them in and turned them on to be sure the new H4s worked before moving on.

I Reinstalled all the bolts, grill and rad cover.

Closed hood then backed out of garage so I could adjust.

And Done, Much better!!

Once the weather clears up and it gets light out side I'll get some day pics.

Thanks man! I really happy with the way they came out. I'm really diggin the H4s too. I had H4s in my ranger too but these are so much brighter and have low and high beams. I hope to get a grill next but I'm more concerned with the suspension. After talking to a member over on FF I think I'm going to go with SVT shocks and Ford racing lowering springs the kit runs about $320 and it's right at what I'm looking to spend.

That's pretty cheap. My buddy is looking at the Eibach street kit for his ZX3 and it's up around $800 for the full kit. Shocks, struts, springs, sways bars and a bunch of bushings I think. Looks good so far man!

This is the message I got from the FF member:

It is SVT shocks and struts with ford racing 1.5 inch lowering springs, they are going on my girls 03 zx3 that has 17 inch ford racing rims. I might have to just slightly bend the inner edge in so it doesn't hit on turns, but big speed bumps will not be able to be crossed, just the small one's from what I hear.

And I payed $360, for it, others get it cheaper, I pay CT state tax which brings it up to $360. Others have said they got it $320 shipped?

Best of luck. even at 170 hp though, I would be looking for a turbo. I mean, Nissan pulled more than that out of an everyday factory 4 cylinder.

Thanks man, 170 don't sound like much but for around here it's great my buddies old tired ZX3 pulled great. Some good handling mated with a strong motor the car gonna be awesome for a street car. I really don't need oberfast I got out of street racing years ago, I just want a car that looks good rolling down the road and has the motor to back it up. Don't Get me wrong later down the road if the motor is strong enough, I'm not saying there won't be a chance to add a power adder.
