well i've had issues with the headunit for probably at least a year, but it's worse than before... i just figure i might as well let it die before i get a new one since i'm on a tight college student budget

anyway, lately (cold midwest) it has been turning off randomly (which it has done before.. i think it's just a matter of how the faceplate itself fits on the connector on the radio base unit. but it has been making two beeps sometimes too when it's off.

any idea what that means?

Just a guess here but as these units usually beep when you turn off the ignition while the faceplate is still on, I would suspect a bad connection at the back of the unit. Probably the wire that is 12v when ignition is on.

it's a different beep than the one when the unit is powered off. when it's powered off it beeps three times and the face plate is motorized so it pops out. this beep (which was only heard when it was one of the colder days) is different and only two and the faceplate doesn't move. is there an internal battery/other electrical component or something that could be messed up?

The only other suggestion I could offer is to go to the manufacturers web site and see if they have any information on there. Good luck.
