I apologize for posting on such an old thread but this is one of the few threads with pics of how Id like my truck to look.
and beautiful truck dude! love the way it sits! Ive gotta ranger almost identical, wondering if there are any clearance (ground clearance and wheel well clearance) issues with the rims and the drop kit you threw on it as I'm contemplating a similar drop on mine.
Any words of advice are appreciated!
Thanks in advance

That's awesome! I hope you did well! I'd love to see how it turned out, can you post a pic?

Sorry man, I had no idea this thread had been bumped. The only clearance issues I ran into were the wheels fitting over the Ranger hubs. I machined the diameter of the hubs down on a brake lathe to fit them through the wheel centers. Doing that, allowed me to run the wheels without spacers. The front tires come really close to the upper controls arms at full lock, but there's no rubbing.
As far as the drop kit goes, everything is great. No clearance issues at all. Just remember to cut down your bumpstops, or get pancake style ones. A bolt in notch for the rear isn't needed, but it's not a bad idea either. I'm contemplating one for the future.

Hell yes I have! Honestly, I think even a stock Termie setup would be way more power than I could put down with the truck. The back end steps out now with the 150ish hp 3.0. A 400hp boosted 4.6 would be hopeless. Fun, but hopeless. I think the 250ish hp supercharged 3.0 should be just the ticket. Not to mention, a decent used Termie engine/trans combo is $7,000+. And I'd have to track down the irs setup from the cobra too, just to do it right, and then the cost really starts to go up. Although, if we want to start a termie swap fund, I'd be willing to give it a shot!
I'm going to build up the trusty old 3.0 and see what happens. Kind of a mini lightning more than a terminator ranger.

Yeah notching your frame would be a good idea too to give you a less bouncy rear end(more travel). With all the power the supercharged 4.6 puts out your wheels would do a lot of bouncing and spinning. Some serious rear suspension tuning would be needed for that power to be put to good use. Even my stock 3.0 slips out on rainy days lol

that is one nasty looking truck.. all it needs is a 4.6 or a 5.0 and it would be a perfect match of shock and awe.

Thanks a bunch! Perhaps one day it will get v8 swapped. I'm having enough trouble right now raising funds to build the 3.0 like I want. I only have a few more parts to buy, so maybe by this summer, I'll have the engine build done.

Parts still needed:
Engine rebuild kit
New 02's
Wideband
Tuner
J&S Safeguard

Parts collecting dust in my garage:
Whipple w/small pulley
Ceramic coated headers
P/P lower intake manifold
1.8 roller rockers
stiffer valve springs
ARP head studs
42lb injectors
fancy valve covers
Cobra fuel pump
gauges

Well, it's mid Feb, and the truck's been in winter storage since Thanksgiving. I miss driving it, so to combat some of the withdrawls, I was looking at old pics, and realized I haven't posted many of these. So here they are:

I think I'm in love. Your truck looks so clean and I can't wait to see what it's like with everything done to it.

Where did you get the column mounted gauge pod? And I might as well ask where you got the whipple charger while I'm at it.
