I could see the non truck apps like Explorers or Crown Vics loosing the 4.6, really for the most part they don't do anything that a turboed 4 banger wouldn't do better.

This fuel economy thing might thin the herd a little, but performance will come back eventually.

My dad showed me that the other day. I bet you most people that buy something like a Vette, or Porshe, or what not, with alot of power don't drive it everyday.. That and, I bet that Corvette/ the Corvette ZR-1 get 20-25 mpg or better. It is amazing what manufacturers are doing with making big power engines, fuel economic. If they want to make companies make fuel efficiant cars, make Chevy discontinue the H2/ Suburban. Those things probably get 8mpg and people drive them everyday!

my uncle bought a new corvette and he says he gets around 25mpg. even though its a big engine, its extremely light and aerodynamic.
