Hey I am putting together a lift for my 88 B2. The front end is from JD and is a 3" lift. The rear is shackles and explorer leafs.

I was wondering what shocks to run to compensate for the lift...now this whole this is on a budget and cant afford to spend a lot of money.

Any help is much appreciated as I do not know much of anything about shocks.

Thanks in advance.

Bilstein, Rancho, Superlift, and Fox are the better ones. KYB, Monroe, and Gabriel are the less expensive shocks. if money is the issue, i'd probably go KYB as i've always liked their gas shocks' ride for the money.

i have rough country shocks for a 4" kit on my 2", also skyjackers website can give u shock lengths for whatever size lift u got, and u can use those lengths to find what u want. i would use shocks from a 4" kit to give u more droop

Woody, I was just at the parts store doing research on shocks for my lift, and I found that the Forward shock of a Quad-Shock 1980-96 F150/Bronco is right at 4" longer than stock (~18.5" ext, 14.5" is stock) and it has the right ends. I stopped by Autozone and they had them in stock for $35 a piece, you could probably find cheaper versions if you looked, but that is the shock you want.
