My credo
Toonces drives a Ranger . . . . just not very well.
Double check the year model?

Rangers started in 1983. The 2.9L would make it a 1986 through 1990.

Seriously, welcome to the site. Any questions don't hesitate to ask.

We'd love to see your Ranger, and hear some more about it.

My bad, its a 1990
Cool! That was good year for Rangers.

Sorry, was not trying to bust your chops.

Now, as far as "suggestions and advice", the first thing that I would do is go through the engine cooling system now, before the weather gets warmer. You're just making sure that the hoses, radiator, water pump, etc. show no trouble signs and that everything looks good. A good flush and fresh coolant would be very good also. The 2.9 is a good engine, but they don't like overheating.

And of course, pay attention to any other routine maintenance that the truck might need.

Welcome aboard; we'd love to see some pics.

Suggestion when buying any used vehicle. Check everything. All fluids. Jack up each corner and gives the wheel a shake. Check belt(s). Basically look for anything loose, broken, or worn.

Thank you! I will post some pictures of the truck later and I will check out the coolant system. The truck has some rust but the box springs and floor look great. And i am genuinely super happy about this slow little brick.
