Another newbie here

Hey guys, Just glendt here from Nova Scotia. The land of the salt air and my nemesis "RUST"!!
Just started running a 1989 BII XL model, you know the sexy ones with all the gadgets. Still stock everywhere, just putting lots of parts on to bring her back to life:
-plugs/wires
-calipers/pads/flex hoses and lines
-6 injectors
-fuel pump
-clutch kit/slave/hydrolic line
-brake booster
-fresh oil everywhere
-u joints on front shaft
-axle shaft on passenger

I guess thats all for now, but that got it running and road worthy. Now Im going to build it up I think. Im heading to beautiful Alberta, Edmonton area, and hope to find lots of interesting things there to build it with. We dont really have too much in the way of bronco ii parts here in NS. (Most have been sent to the junk yard for a rust refund) I dont really know what suspension and axles and shafts I want yet, but Im sure availability will dictate.

Have a great day people!! Man, I sure enjoy this site, THANKS FOR MAKING IT AND KEEPING IT RUNNING!!!!!

Welcome!

I'm one of those Calgary guys. I also don't get the axel joke ...
This is becoming a hilarious, if somewhat disturbing trend;missingteeth;

Welcome DBD from a former Saskatchewiener. Go Riders!

The undercarriage seems rustier than my BII, but probably because the engine holds it's oil lol. Body seems rust free. A few small dents, but that's ok by me, less of a downer when I add one.

Yeah here in Sask I think they use mostly gravel, with just enough salt for it to bite into the snow. I have been to Ontario in the winter, and their roads go white with salt. Ours go brown. When it melts it looks like everyone has gone mudding, soccer moms and all.

calgary used to do that... now they use a combination of a random chemical (i forget what it's called) and salt...

calgary i think had the highest windshield replacement rate, in all of canada, iirc... average life span was between 1 and 1.5 years before a major crack... mine lasted 10 months
