just bought a 95 ranger xlt ext cab w 134k mi. runs and drives great except a vibration/rumble that happens from 40-65mph.
when i turn at a constant speed the sound doesnt change
when i put the clutch in, or its in neutral or in gear coasting it goes away completly until i accelerate (in gear)
when its in in 4wd with manual hubs locked the noise is always there from 40-65 even in neutral or with the clutch in
its almost like a humming that sounds like its coming from the rear.
when in 4wd, the front right clicks when turning moderate right turns at low speeds (not on dry pavement) so im going to start with front u joints and would like to rear at the same time.
what are some other things to check? this is my 1st 4wd vehicle
thanks for any help/input. i searched but found alot of vibration threads but none where the noise stopped completely when the clutch is pressed in or decelerating in gear
