My 1999 Ranger has been having issue with the 4 wheel drive since its getting older i know it happens, but i replaced the vaccum hubs with lock outs and put a new motor on the transfer case and still no 4 wheel drive. I know theres a module that goes bad also I'm assuming its that, but my worry is there is a stray brown wire that the new transfer case motor doesn't have. What is that brown wire and should i be alarmed after cutting it?

Ok so I found out it's not the transfer case motor. I have purchased the manual locking hubs for my truck and for some unknow reason it's burning up the one on the driver side. Can't figure out why? The hub isn't hot after I take the truck for a ride. Please if anyone has a clue please let me know it sucks when the four wheel drive quits when it's the time of the year you really need it.
Thanks for the help!
