so now its winter time again the truck leaks all over (88BII)the front carpets are drenched and reak.(ughh)So i yanked the carpets, low and behold suface rust galore and daylight through the firewall drivers side.my main concern was the smell and mold issues.(got kids gotta be careful)But now the floor itself just looks bad i was thinking about bed liner or rock gaurd, then if i actually manage to get into the giant puddles&bogs itll be easier to clean.
what do you all think.:dunno:

I have a question for you first, before you buy new flooring. Is the floor wet from the bottoms of your feet or is the floor wet from an unknown source inside the vehicle? The reason I ask is that I have a 1985 Ford Ranger. I noticed there was water on the mats and I had not been in the truck while it was wet out. I pulled the rubber mats up and the floor was soaked. The best I could figure was that rain water is leaking past the window area, not around the window seal, down the door post and into the cab area. I have no clue how to seal this to have a dry interior. Check your floor boards because mine were rusted with pin holes in the floor boards. Make sure, friend, before you have my problem. If this was your problem and you have a solution then throw me a bone here because I am to the point of irritation and beyond!

actually so far i have resealed all the gutters with silicone and the truck has rust holes in the firewall below the brake booster and down by the drivers fender i have also noticed water coming in abit from the firewall passenger side the carpet after twenty years was just done. so since i yanked the carpet out the truck doesnt smell bad any more and the the moisture is gone and the windows hardly fog up.im thinking i will use that roll on bed liner stuff
for the floor in the spring duratek has a nice blue color which the carpet was
it is however noisier now without the carpet but it was worth yanking it.
fyi ii cut the carpet out and left the center down the middle
good luck guys let me know how yours turns out
