I just did the same thing on my ranger. Just took the orbital and got rid of most of the rust. Then hit it up with the por 15 to kill the rust completely. Then I just primed and spraybombed it with a close color. It doesn't really match but who really crawls up there to look?

That's a lot of work on that intake! Looks good!
This comming from a guy who polished his front diff and T-case?:icon_rofl::icon_rofl:

Looks like a cool build. I'll be working on something similar over the winter. Mine will be more of a Saleen version.

I could use a little help from my fellow Ranger friends.. I have searched from front to back of the internet for one of the old school 3 piece tailgate spoilers. I can't find one anywhere for the Ranger. I was able to find one for a s10. (boo!) Not sure if it could be modified to fit or not. Anyone know where I might could get one for the Ranger? The Saleen Ranger had one on it I believe.. I think it would go perfect with my vision...

Worked more on the Intake as well.. it is proving to be more work than I thought. I bought pack of barrel sanding disk to help get in the tight places and a stainless steel polishing kit to polish with when the time comes... Which seems like never... Also ground and sanded the high spot on the back top and front bolt hole for the cover... unless mine is worse than usual plan on a lot of time and patience on this project if anyone decides to try it...

The latest on the intake... Wet sanding with 2000 grit.. Still a long way to go... I am assuming Mothers is the best thing to polish with but open to sugestions...

The cool thing about doing a build is things can be changed at any time! I am thinking I shouldn't have said Shelby and just said Cobra.. Either way I am hoping it looks sweet! Can't wait to see your project! Heck why wait till winter? Start now so I can steal some Ideas from ya!

You definatly show determination. So stick with it and it all makes it worth it in the end. Personally I would have powdercoated it satin black and be done with it. Only certain shinny things should be allowed in the engine compartment and you will likely never even see them.
