Mustang/taurus Dome Light Mod.

HI!... Went out to the local junk yard today and picked up a dome light from a TAURUS. The one for the Mustang is the same. As you know the Ranger has a single dome light with no map lights at all and it doesn't get too bright.

This one has 3 lights in it. One in the center that works as a dome light, and the other two are map lights controlled by switches. Mine came a very light gray. My Ranger's interior is medium gray. So I dismantled it and then sandblasted it on low PSI. Then I painted it to match my interior. I'll be installing it tomorrow. I'll post up some more pics.

rangers have 3 different dome lights available, one of which has 3 bulbs (2 map lights and a center bulb). this is a bolt-in mod and works well

Looks good. What kind of paint did you use & color?

HI!... The paint is made by SEM. It comes in a spray bomb. It's paint but also a dye that penetrates the plastic. I believe the colour is MEDIUM GAPHITE (grey).

Where did you find the paint? How well does it match? When I did my A-pillar pod, I went looking for paint, the duplicolor part number was discontinued, and the SEM stuff I found was shades darker. My D/S A-pillar is two-toned gray and black, it annoys the hell out of me.

SEM is a great product. Do you have the part # on the can? I've a 2005 Ranger parts catalog & in the back they list inside trim touch-up paint. You can go to your local Ford dealership parts dept. to buy this.
