im a welder by trade it you have the right wire it should be ok. im my experience aluminum is just a pain it the ass alone minus trying to add stainless on to it but seeing how its not stick and you are doing mig shouldnt be too much of a problem just keep the heat down

I am also a fabricator by trade, and in fact work in a stainless shop... you should have no problem welding aluminized to stainless. Keep in mind that the aluminum will burn off as if you are welding galvanized steel, so any aluminum that burns off will not give the steel any protection from the atmosphere ( and is also just as poisonous. MIG welding stainless also puts off Hexavalant Chromium, but if your welding just 2 pipes you will be fine. I recommend using .035 316L mig wire for the job. I would also use tri mix over 75/25, and use slightly more heat than you would steel of the same gauge. 18.5V and 230 inch/min should put you in the ball park. Happy Welding :icon_welder::headbang:
