Lowering my 87

I have a 87 gettn ready for paint but i wanna lower it cheap, i-beams is expensive and is to much of a drop for me... i wanna cut the front springs (take 1 coil out) and flip the rear axle, whats all involved with flippin it... theres a leaf spring perch there... do u cut that off and re weld it or what... any info will help

Buy a kit to flip the rear. It's a bolt on affair that way. Unbolt the axle, one side of the springs, add the flip kit and place the axle back over the springs.

Check out the Tech Library - it has more details on doing a flip. Like James mentioned ^^^^^^^ it is not that hard to do if you have the ability, tools and a friend to get dirty with and share a beer - LOL.

allright thanks, i get why u need the piece of steel now... it goes underneath the perch and steadys the axle from the bottom side
