Does anybody have accurate info on a larger body oil filter that will safely fit my 08 2.3 DOHC. I have been using the standard Motorcraft filter and years ago with previous vehicles I have found larger filters, I don't have access to a large filter catalog with specific info on the mounting thread size and check valve data. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

If you will look on the base of the filter, the thread size is stamped right into the steel. Every filter I have looked at has this. Some are metric, some are still S.A.E. Most Ford filters are 3/4", 16 tpi. Just measure the diameter of the filter base, go to an auto parts store and start measuring and noting thread sizes. I did this a few years ago looking for a small filter and ended up running a Saturn filter on a Pinto 2.0.

I fail to understand how a Motorcraft FL910S isn't good enough? I guess Ford engineers are ignorant and can never be trusted!
